At this stage, you are still booted from your newly installed kernel, but have your original one restored to disk. So, you should reboot, allowing the original kernel to be loaded into memory. At this stage, you should boot in maintenance mode, so that the LVM configuration can be recovered. To boot in maintenance mode, follow the same procedure as outlined in step 1.1, shutting down with the shutdown command, and then interrupting the boot. However, this time insert the string -lm (instead of the -is). For our example:


        ISL> hpux -lm (52.6.0;0)/stand/vmunix
