- Better page size optimization and memory management
- Enhancements to SAM
- Web based management
- Dynamic loadable kernel
- Better SMP capabilities
- Better Kernel threading
- Support of NIS+
- Faster backups
- Fast memory Dump
- Enhanced IP security, IPv6 compatible and other
- IP capabilities (eg multicast)
- New DNS, BIND and Sendmail, Gated
10.30 is really only an upgrade for developers. HP
states that the following components, products or
features are not supported at HP-UX 10.30:
- NFS Diskless
- PPL (replaced by PPP)
- HP-UX-Install (replaced by Ignite-UX)
- High Availability products (MC/ServiceGuard, ClusterView, MC/LockManager)
- BSD-based TCP/IP (replaced by Streams TCP/IP)
- For shared volume groups, HP MirrorDisk/UX is no longer supported
- The sysdiag online diagnostics (replaced by STM, Support Tool Manager)
- ImageView (some of its functionality is replace by Technical Print Service)
- HP VUE (replaced by HP CDE and MPower/Web 2.0)
- InstantIgnite product (such as datebook, xcal, xhpcalc)
- Instant Ignition is not available as an option at HP-UX 10.30
- The OpenGL API and HP VISUALIZE-FX graphics, as supported by the Additional Core
Enhancements for 10.20 HP-UX Series 700 B/C/J Class (July 1997) product, HP Part No. B6193AA,
an add-on to HP-UX 10.20, are not supported by HP-UX 10.30
These HP 9000 Series 700 Workstation systems
are not supported:
- J Class
- Model 705
- Model 720
- Model 725/xx
- Model 750
- Model 755
- C Class: Models C180+, C200+, C230+ and
- C240+
- VME 7xxi workstations
