A One-Day Intensive Training Seminar,
presented by Bill Hassell,
Software Support Engineer,
Hewlett-Packard Atlanta Response Centre
HP-UX 10 has been out now for a couple of years and some major enhancements have been
included in some of the more recent revisions. This tutorial will go over all the different revisions
(10.00, 10.01, 10.10, 10.20 etc) both for their features and for changes from the previous
revision. Then we'll investigate all the aspects of managing 10.xx systems, from disk space to
spoolers, and everything in between. A number of tips will be given on how to manage multiple
systems, both workstations and business servers, and how to automate installs and updates.
Resources will be listed for training, documentation, and support, and we'll have hand-outs
containing FAQs and other useful ideas. This seminar is designed for the new HP-UX user as
well as experienced system administrators.
Bill Hassell is an HP support engineer working at the Atlanta response Centre. Currently he
works in Support Engineering Technology where he keeps tabs on more than 100 HP 9000
systems. He previously worked for 3 years on the HP-UX System Interrupt Team. Bill has been
with HP for more than 18 years and is a frequent contributor to the HP User Group conferences
and publications in the US. He is a board member of the Mid-Atlantic and South East regional
InterWorks groups and is a frequent speaker at their meetings. Bill is working on a book for HP-UX call the 'HP-UX System Administrator's Survival Guide', which will be available from
Prentice Hall in the near future.
This will be Bill's first visit to England and he is flying in for just one day specifically to give
this tutorial. Subscribers to the HP-UX newsgroup however will already know Bill by reputation
as he frequently responds to user queries, saving the fortunes of many a struggling system
administrator!
This is a unique opportunity for you to benefit from his extensive knowledge and experience.
