The overall theme of the day is to explore the experience of building a large distributed system using the Linux kernel as the basis. The sessions will use this experience to detail the technical challenges encountered on the journey.
The day will be split into four sessions:
A description of the application and the architecture developed to implement the system required. This will be coupled with a technical overview of the system builds.
A project overview on what went right and what is still going wrong. The horror stories and the solutions we had to adopt.
A detailed discussion of the system components and how they have been configured to take advantage of the Linux environment.
A look at the future applications that can be mounted on this architecture and the additional developments we intend to undertake to deliver future systems.
